Walkthroughs

PBO’s story runs through four regions, one after the other. Each walkthrough follows that region’s Main Story quests from the Quest Tracker, with every Gym Leader, rival and villain team, the HMs and the gym puzzles. They contain spoilers.

Order Region Where it starts You can go there
1 Sinnoh Twinleaf Town From the start
2 Jvaloh, PBO’s own region Route 219, south of Sandgem Town After the Sinnoh story, once Buck at Stark Mountain has the Magma Stone back
3 Hoenn Littleroot Town, by ship from Snowpoint City After the Jvaloh story ends at the Dragon Tower
4 Kanto Pallet Town, by ship from Lilycove City After you become Hoenn Champion and finish the Skies Beyond Hoenn quests

Once a region is open, you can go back and forth without replaying the trip. Each region’s own teleporters only cover that region, but three places have a teleporter that serves every region: Spring Valley (Sinnoh), the Crew Wars Lobby and the Champion’s Hall Tournament Room.

You are in How to reach a cross-region teleporter
Sinnoh Any teleporter goes to Spring Valley. Hearthome City’s also goes to the Crew Wars Lobby once you have 3 Sinnoh badges.
Hoenn or Kanto Every teleporter lists Spring Valley and the Crew Wars Lobby.
Jvaloh Jvaloh’s teleporters stay in Jvaloh. Once you have a Jvaloh badge, the Tournament Assistant in any Jvaloh Pokémon Center sends you to the Champion’s Hall Tournament Room for free. Before that, go back the way you came: from New Dawn Town, surf back along Route 219 to Sandgem Town.

At a cross-region teleporter, a town in another region is on the list once you have the badges that town needs in its own region. You need at least 1 badge in Jvaloh, Hoenn or Kanto before any of that region’s towns appear.

The ships also keep running:

  • Hoenn: Sailor Bucky at the Snowpoint City docks sails to Crosswave Isle, where Driver Rusty’s truck takes you on to Littleroot Town. Driver Rusty in Littleroot drives you back to Crosswave Isle, and Bucky sails you to Snowpoint.
  • Kanto: Sailor Marcus at the Lilycove City port sails to Pallet Town, and sails back from Pallet Town.

Pokémon you caught in an earlier region do not keep their full strength in a new one until you beat that region’s Elite Four:

In Pokémon from earlier regions battle at
Jvaloh and Hoenn At most level 5, plus 5 for every badge you hold in the region you are in (see level caps by badge count)
Kanto Level 1

Pokémon caught in the region you are playing are never held back, so catch a new team as you go. Pokémon from a later region are not held back when you return to an earlier one.
