Earning shards
Section titled “Earning shards”-
Pick a type. Talk to one of the four apprentices (
Apprentice #1,
Apprentice #2,
Apprentice #3,
Apprentice #4). Before the battle you choose which type of shard you want. -
Win the battle. Beat their six level 100 Pokémon to receive a Hidden Power Shard of that type, for example a Hidden Power Shard (Fire).

The four types on offer change from week to week, rotating through these sets. The change follows the calendar week (Monday, UTC, and sometimes the 1st of the month), not the Wednesday reset. Check which types are offered before you battle:
| Set | Types |
|---|---|
| 1 | Fire, Grass, Electric, Fighting |
| 2 | Water, Rock, Ground, Psychic |
| 3 | Dragon, Ice, Poison, Ghost |
| 4 | Flying, Steel, Bug, Dark |
