Three trainers at the start of Hoenn keep asking to see a specific Pokémon that you caught yourself. Each request has a minimum level, and you keep the Pokémon. Every time you show one you get 250, 500 or 750 F plus an item.

After each request you have to wait before they ask for the next: until the next full hour after the first and second, and until the next day (midnight UTC) after the third.

Shane starts his list again after the last request, so you can repeat it. Warren and Tina only go through theirs once.

The five Winstrates are a quick daily source of experience and cash, like a small Vs. Seeker.

Vito only appears after you become Hoenn Champion. His team always matches your highest level, never below level 80.

  1. Pick up the stacks. In the Verdanturf Town Poké Mart, the Mart Assistant asks you to introduce the new Dive Ball and hands you Dive Ball Stackx6.

  2. Deliver the stacks. Give one stack to the Mart Assistant in each of these Poké Marts: Oldale Town, Petalburg City, Rustboro City, Dewford Town, Slateport City and Mauville City.

  3. Collect your reward. Return to Verdanturf. A second Mart Assistant gives you Dive Ballx5. See balls for special situations for what Dive Balls do and where to get more.

  1. Talk to Father Link. He is in Verdanturf House #3. His daughter Xueying set out on her own journey and left her doll behind. He gives you a Poke Doll to take to her.

  2. Find Xueying. She is on Mt. Pyre 2F, which you reach from Route 122. She stands on the right side of the room, about halfway down.

  3. Give her the doll. She thanks you with an Auspicious Armor or a Malicious Armor.

Both armors evolve Charcadet: the Auspicious Armor into Armarouge and the Malicious Armor into Ceruledge. See Evolution methods.

  1. Meet the Foreman. After May tells you about him, find the Mining Foreman in Lavaridge House #2, Lavaridge Town. His mining kit went missing.

  3. Find the missing miners. Two of his miners are missing. Find one in the Route 111 (Desert) Mining Site and one in the Mt. Chimney Mining Site.

  4. Buy the kit. Return to the Foreman with 10,000 F. He sells you the Miner's Genesis Kit. Open it from your Bag to get the Mining Toolpad, a Bronze Pickaxe and a Mining Hat (Amethyst).

Shoal Cave is on Route 125, north of Mossdeep City. The guard only lets you in once you have 400 unique Pokémon caught.

The cave has a low tide and a high tide that switch every 3 hours, and some rooms only exist at one tide. Low tide starts at 00:00, 06:00, 12:00 and 18:00 UTC; high tide starts at 03:00, 09:00, 15:00 and 21:00 UTC.

  • Shell Bell. Pick up Shoal Saltx4 (lying in the low-tide rooms) and Shoal Shellx4 (in the high-tide rooms), then give them to Marlow on Route 125 for a Shell Bell. There are exactly 4 of each on the ground, so this works once unless you get more elsewhere.
  • Wild Pokémon. Shoal Cave has high-level wild Pokémon, including Bergmite, Cetoddle and Clauncher. See Hoenn Pokémon locations.
  • Officer Jenny. Her quest also takes place here; see Officer Jenny and the Prison Bottle.
