Wings of the Wind (Pidgeotite)

Gale, the Sky Commander, lives on Route 16, west of Celadon City. He gives his Pidgeotite, the Mega Stone for Pidgeot, only to a trainer with a true partner Pidgeot. First he checks your Pidgeot, then he battles you in his house.

  • The Pidgeot: you must catch it yourself, as a Pidgey, Pidgeotto or Pidgeot. Pidgey evolves into Pidgeotto at level 18, and Pidgeotto into Pidgeot at level 36. In Kanto, wild Pidgeot live on Route 14, on Route 22 while surfing and on Route 18 during the day.
  • Shiny with the right nature: a Pokémon’s nature never changes after you catch it, so hunt for a shiny with Timid or Modest nature. See Shiny hunting and natures.
  • Your team: until you are Kanto Champion, Pokémon caught outside Kanto battle at level 1 in Kanto. Gale’s team is level 120, so become Champion first or bring strong Pokémon caught in Kanto. See levels in wild and NPC battles.
  1. Find Gale on Route 16. Leave Celadon City by its west exit onto Route 16 (Kanto). Follow the northern path west and cut the small tree on the way (see HMs in Kanto). Gale stands with his Pidgeot outside his house.

  3. Battle Gale in his house. Enter Commander Gale’s House through the door north of where he stood. Talk to Gale with your Pidgeot still in your party to start the battle.
