Return of the Moonlight Ritual

Since Team Rocket raided Mt. Moon Square, the Clefairy have stopped their moonlight dance. Find the Cleffa that got lost in the caves and bring the family back together. This quest can be done early in the Kanto story.

Walkthrough

Section titled “Walkthrough”

  1. Talk to Hiker Eden. He is on Route 3 and misses watching the Clefairy dance in the moonlight, which stopped after Team Rocket showed up.

  2. Visit Mt. Moon Square at night. A Local Researcher stands next to a lone Clefable. He explains that a Cleffa got separated during the raid and fled deep into the caves.

  3. Search Mt. Moon. Two Rocket Grunts now threaten the Cleffa: Rocket Grunt Felix on Mt. Moon B1F (Sandshrew, Rattata, Zubat) and Rocket Grunt Mira on Mt. Moon B2F (three Zubat). Beat both.

  4. Find the Cleffa. The lost Cleffa is hiding on Mt. Moon B2F. Once both grunts are beaten, it trusts you and heads home.

  5. Return to Mt. Moon Square. The Clefairy family is back together. Talk to the Cleffa to receive a Comet Shard.

After the reunion, the Local Researcher opens shop in the Mt. Moon Shop, the house on Mt. Moon Square. He teaches moves that a Pokémon could learn in older games but cannot learn the normal way in PBO, such as moves removed in later generations.

For example, Lopunny can learn Return, Frustration, Dizzy Punch and Jump Kick from him.

  • Cost per move: 50,000 F and Tiny Mushroomx8.
  • Each Pokémon has its own list; the teacher only offers moves your Pokémon can learn this way.
  • Tiny Mushrooms drop from wild Paras, including the Paras inside Mt. Moon itself and on Route 4 (Kanto). Paras in Jvaloh drop them too.
