Blazikenite, Sceptilite and Swampertite
After you become Hoenn Champion, three friends are struggling with a Mega Evolved Hoenn starter:
May with
Blaziken,
Professor Cozmo with
Sceptile and
Wally with
Swampert.

Each quest roughly follows the same pattern:
-
Catch 10 special starters. They come from the Hoenn Safari Zone, and you trade them for crafting parts.
-
Get the calming item. Trade the 10 parts for it.
-
Calm the Mega. Use the item to calm the Mega Evolved Pokémon (a level 120 battle).
-
Beat the new Champion. Your friend becomes a weekly Champion. Beat them on Hard and you receive their Mega Stone the first time you win.
The starters you need
Section titled “The starters you need”Every one of the 10 starters you hand over must be:
- caught by you in the Hoenn Safari Zone
- an Ultra Rare encounter
- holding no item
- with total IVs of 100 or more (any level)
Each starter gives one part:
| Starter | Where in the Safari | Part |
|---|---|---|
| Hoenn Safari (Desert Biome), walking | ||
| Hoenn Safari (Grass Biome), walking | ||
| Hoenn Safari (Water Biome), surfing or fishing |
To check a Pokémon’s IVs, see Stats, IVs, EVs and natures.

The Champion battles
Section titled “The Champion battles”May, Cozmo and Wally fight like the other Hoenn Champions: once a week, with Easy, Medium and Hard difficulty. Each uses one of three teams of level 100 Pokémon (May’s Mega Blaziken can be level 110). Every team includes their Hoenn starter, but not always as a Mega.
- Your first win on Hard gives you their Mega Stone:
Blazikenite,
Sceptilite or
Swampertite. You can only get each stone this way once. - Winning on any difficulty still gives the usual Champion rewards.
See Gyms, Elite Four and Champions for how Champion battles and their rewards work, and Mega Stones for using the stones.
