Each region has 8 Gym Leaders and an Elite Four. Beat the Elite Four and its Champion to become that region’s Champion, which unlocks the region’s postgame: rematches at much higher levels, champion battles and more. For help choosing your team, see building a team.

Tip

Gym battles and many Elite Four and champion battles can also be fought with a friend in a Co-op Duo party: meet on the same map, and the game checks that you are both eligible when you challenge. Kanto Champion Gary is always fought alone. See Co-op and hordes.

Sinnoh Elite Four rerun

After you become Sinnoh Champion, the whole Sinnoh league can be challenged again once a week in Doubles.

• Where: start with Aaron in the Sinnoh League, as on your first run.
• Format: Double battles against all five in a row. The Elite Four use level 100 teams and Cynthia level 110. Each of them picks one of 3 teams at random.
• Items: you cannot use items from your Bag in these battles.
• Healing: your team is healed after you beat Bertha (second) and Lucian (fourth), and after Cynthia. There is no other healing on the way.
• Losing: any loss sends you back to the start of the run, so you beat the Elite Four again from Aaron before you can face Cynthia. A loss does not start the weekly cooldown.
• Cooldown: after you beat Cynthia, the rerun opens again at the weekly reset (Monday 00:00 UTC).
