Buzzing Hide and Seek

This quest has two parts. The first is a short rescue you can do on your first trip through Viridian Forest. The second, after you become Kanto Champion, is a daily game of hide and seek that ends in a battle with the Queen Bee.

Part 1: the lost brother

  1. Meet Emma. She is near the southern entrance of Viridian Forest. Her brother got lost playing hide and seek. She mentions two friends who might know where he went.

  2. Talk to Tommy. He is on the east side of the forest and remembers a big hollow tree.

  3. Talk to Lucy. She is on the west side of the forest and heard buzzing.

  4. Find Charlie. He is in the north of the forest and has upset a swarm of Beedrill. Battle the Angry Beedrill Queen: three Beedrill at levels 10, 12 and 13.

  5. Talk to Charlie. This finishes Part 1, and you receive an Insect Plate.

Part 2: daily hide and seek

After you become Kanto Champion, Emma waits on Route 2 South, right outside the entrance to Viridian Forest. Every day she picks three of her seven friends to hide in Viridian Forest, so the hiders change from day to day and differ between players.

  1. Talk to Emma. Agree to play.

  2. Beat the three hiders. Find them in Viridian Forest. Each has six level 80 Pokémon and pays 650 F.

  3. Find the Queen Bee. Once all three are beaten, the Queen Bee is back in the Hollow Tree Zone. The hollow tree’s entrance is on the east side of Viridian Forest.

The Queen Bee

The Queen Bee is a level 100 battle you can win once a day, after that day’s hiders.

Team: Ribombee, Heracross, Arboliva, Venomoth, Slither Wing, Mega Beedrill.

Rewards: 2,500 F and one of: Sun Stone, Leaf Stone, Star Piece, Nugget, Nest Ballx5, TM060 U-turn, TM105 X-Scissor, TM162 Bug Buzz, TM182 Bug Bite, Bug Catcher Chest, Silver Powder, PP Up or Rare Candy.

The Bug Catcher Chest contains one of three bug Pokémon: Venipede, Blipbug or Larvesta.

She can also drop Beedrillite, but only once per account.
