Casino

The Veilstone Game Corner in Veilstone City (Sinnoh) is PBO’s casino. It has five games: Slots, Roulette, Voltorb Flip, Blackjack and Plinko. Every game costs money and pays out Casino Tokens, which you spend at the Casino Token Store on chests, Mega Stones, Memories, TMs and training items.

Veilstone CityThe Game Corner is in Veilstone City.

Veilstone City and its buildings open once you have 3 Sinnoh badges; see the Sinnoh walkthrough. Carry the money you want to play with: the games don’t take money from an ATM. The Game Corner has its own ATM next to the token trader.

  1. Walk up to a machine. Face any of the game machines in the Game Corner and interact with it.
  2. Pick a game. The game asks which casino game you want to play. Choose Slots, Roulette, Voltorb Flip, Blackjack or Plinko.
  3. Play. The game’s window opens. Its HELP button explains the rules and shows what the game pays.
The question "Which casino game do you want to play?" with Slots, Roulette, Voltorb Flip, Blackjack and Plinko in its list
Face a machine and press Space to pick one of the five games.
  • Counters: WALLET is the money in your hand. SPENT and TOKENS WON add up this session, and LAST WIN shows your last payout.
  • HISTORY: your past plays, page by page. SHARE on a row posts it in chat as a card, and other players click the card to see the result.
  • HELP: the rules and the payout table.
  • Tokens: wins go straight into your Bag.
  • Phones: every game switches to a phone layout with large buttons. Nothing needs a right-click or a hover.

Roulette, Blackjack and Plinko use the same four chips. Each chip is worth a number of chip tokens, and every payout in those games is a multiple of it. A bigger chip gives more tokens for every 100 F:

Chip Chip tokens
100 F 1
1,000 F 11
10,000 F 130
100,000 F 1,500

Three reels of Pokémon symbols spin. Match two or three of them on the payline to win.

  1. Pick a stake. Tap one of the four chips: 100, 1,000, 10,000 or 100,000 F.
  2. Spin. Press SPIN. For a 10,000 F or 100,000 F stake, the game asks you to confirm first.
  3. Watch the reels. They stop from left to right. Two matching symbols show a PAIR banner, three a JACKPOT banner, and your tokens go into your Bag.

Pick a stake chip, then press SPIN.

Each of the seven symbols has its own prize. Three of a kind pays the full prize. Two of a kind pays a third of it, rounded up. The HELP window shows the same table, with a tab for each.

HELP lists every payout, with one tab for three of a kind and one for two.

Place up to 8 bets on the felt, then spin the wheel. It lands on one number from 0 to 36, and every bet that covers that number pays.

  1. Pick a chip. Tap 100, 1K, 10K or 100K. New bets use the chip with the gold ring.
  2. Place your bets. Tap a number, a column, a dozen or an even-money bet on the felt to put the chip there. Tap it again to take it back. CLEAR takes every chip off.
  3. Spin. Press SPIN, which shows your total bet. The wheel turns and the ball lands on the winning number.
  4. Collect. Winning bets light up with the tokens they paid. Bets that miss are lost.

A spin that landed on 19 red, with the winning bets lit and the tokens they paid.

The HELP window lists what each bet pays, as a multiple of the chip’s tokens:

Bet Covers Pays
Single number 1 number, 0 to 36 ×36
Red / Black The red or the black numbers ×2
Odd / Even The odd or the even numbers ×2
1-18 / 19-36 The low or the high half ×2
Dozen (1st, 2nd, 3rd 12) 1–12, 13–24 or 25–36 ×3
Column (2 to 1) One of the three rows of the table ×3

0 is green: every bet except a single number on 0 loses when 0 comes up. For example, a 1,000 F chip on red pays 22 tokens (11 × 2) when the ball lands on a red number.

RECENT shows the last numbers of this session.

Voltorb Flip is played in runs of up to 9 levels. You pay a buy-in once, at the start of the run, and the stake stays the same for the whole run.

Buy-in Tokens a coin
5,000 F 1
50,000 F 10
500,000 F 100
  1. Start a run. Pick a stake and press START RUN.
  2. Read the hints. The board is 5 × 5 face-down cards. Each card is ×1, ×2, ×3 or a Voltorb. The numbers at the end of each row and column show that line’s coin total and how many Voltorbs hide in it.
  3. Flip cards. Tap a card to flip it. ×2 and ×3 cards multiply this level’s coins; ×1 keeps them the same.
  4. Clear the level. Find every ×2 and ×3 card. The level’s coins go into your POT and the next level starts.

Flip a Voltorb and the run ends: the whole pot is lost and you start again at level 1.

Memo marks help you keep track. Pick a mark (Voltorb, 1, 2 or 3), then tap face-down cards to mark them. Tap the mark again to go back to flipping.

Voltorb Flip on level 1: the 5 × 5 board with a few cards flipped, the hints at the end of each row and column, the level track, the POT, THIS LEVEL and STAKE panels and the four memo marks
The hint at the end of each row and column guides your next flip.

The 9 levels come in 3 stages. After level 3 and after level 6, the run stops at a checkpoint and you choose:

  • CASH OUT: take the pot as Casino Tokens and end the run.
  • CONTINUE: keep the whole pot riding into the next stage. One Voltorb and it is gone.
Level The pot pays
3 ×1, or continue
6 ×3, or continue
9 ×10, and the run ends

Each coin in the pot is worth your stake’s tokens a coin, times the checkpoint’s multiplier. For example, a pot of 120 coins cashed out at level 3 on the 50,000 F stake pays 1,200 tokens. A run never pays more than 150,000 tokens.

You can’t cash out in the middle of a board. If a board looks too risky, FORFEIT ends the run like a Voltorb: the pot is lost. The game asks first.

Your run is saved. Close the window or log out, and it is waiting where you left it.

The STAGE 1 CLEAR! window: your pot, "Pays 72 Casino Tokens", and the CASH OUT and CONTINUE buttons
At a checkpoint, cash out your pot or keep it riding into the next stage.

Play one hand at a time against the dealer, a Honchkrow. Get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over.

  1. Pick a chip and deal. Tap a chip, then DEAL. You and the dealer get two cards each; one of the dealer’s cards is face down.
  2. Play your hand. HIT takes another card. STAND keeps your hand. DOUBLE, on your first two cards only, adds one more chip, takes one card and stands.
  3. The dealer plays. The dealer turns the hidden card and draws to 17, standing on every 17.
  • Card values: 2–10 count their number; J, Q and K count 10. An ace counts 11, or 1 when 11 would take you over 21.
  • Blackjack: an ace with a 10, J, Q or K as your first two cards. It pays more than a win. A 21 from three or more cards is a normal win.
  • Dealer blackjack: with an ace or a 10 showing, the dealer checks for blackjack first. A dealer blackjack ends the hand at once; it is a push if you have blackjack too.
  • Push: a tie. It still pays tokens; see the table below.
  • Bust: going over 21 loses the chip.
  • The deck: every card comes from a full deck, so counting cards doesn’t help.

There is no split, insurance or surrender. A hand in play is saved if you close the window.

The HELP window shows what one chip pays:

Chip Win Blackjack Push
100 F 3 4 1
1,000 F 36 42 18
10,000 F 433 498 216
100,000 F 5,000 5,750 2,500

A doubled hand pays double.

Hit, stand or double against Honchkrow, who stands on 17.

Drop a ball down a board of pegs and into the cups at the bottom.

  1. Pick a chip. Each ball costs one chip.
  2. Aim. A pointer slides back and forth along the rail at the top.
  3. Drop. Press DROP (or Space on a keyboard) to let the ball go where the pointer is. It bounces off the pegs into a cup, or falls out of the bottom.
Cup What it does
WIN Pays 2 × your chip tokens, times the multiplier
JACKPOT Pays 15 × your chip tokens, times the multiplier, then a new board comes
x2 cup Sets the multiplier to ×2; an ×3 stays ×3
x3 cup Sets the multiplier to ×3
No cup A miss: pays nothing and the multiplier goes back to ×1

The HELP window shows the tokens for each chip at ×1. At ×2 and ×3 they double and triple.

Chip WIN JACKPOT
100 F 2 15
1,000 F 22 165
10,000 F 260 1,950
100,000 F 3,000 22,500

You start on level 1. A new board comes after a JACKPOT, or after 5 WINs on the same board; the screen shows your LEVEL and your wins on this board. A new board, a miss or a change of chip puts the multiplier back to ×1. The Porygon beside the multiplier reacts to every ball.

Plinko with a ball falling through the pegs towards the cups at the bottom, the multiplier at ×1 with Porygon beside it, level 1 and the chip picker
Drop a ball and watch which cup it lands in.

The Casino Token Trader stands inside the Game Corner, next to the ATM. Tyranitarite and the legendary chests cost a lot of tokens; EV resets, Rare Candies, IV items, the EV Master Balls and the Pay Day Chest are closer goals for most players.
