Riley's Lucario and the Steel Cavern

Riley’s Lucario has gone berserk and run off. Find it, calm it down, and Riley thanks you with the Steel Cave Pass. The pass is the only way into the Steel Cavern under Iron Island, the one place in Sinnoh where wild Riolu live.

Talk to the sailor at the docks in Canalave City and choose Iron Island. The trip costs 100 F and needs 5 Sinnoh badges. The cave entrance at the top of the island needs 7 badges. The Sinnoh walkthrough shows where the sailor stands.

  1. Meet Riley. Go through the Iron Island caves and come out at the exit. Riley is standing nearby. He tells you his Lucario went berserk after Team Galactic tampered with the Iron Ruins and ran south.

  4. Battle Lucario on Route 210. Leave Celestic Town to the east onto Route 210. Lucario is in the upper part of the route. This time it battles you: a single level 50 Lucario. Beat it and it runs off west, back towards Riley.

  5. Return to Iron Island. Riley is now waiting near the sailor on Iron Island. Lucario is badly hurt and he asks you for a Mercury Potion. Someone inside the caves will trade one.

That room has two warps in its lower half; take the right-hand one into Iron Island B2F R. The Shady Man, dressed in white, stands on the raised ledge in the lower part of the room, against its back wall.

He trades the Mercury Potion for a Bronzor at level 10 or higher from your party. He keeps the Bronzor. If it was holding an item, the item goes back to your bag.

Bronzor is Very Rare. You can find it on Route 206, Route 211 (West) and on most floors of Mt. Coronet. See Sinnoh Pokémon locations for levels and times. Catch two if you want to keep one.

The Steel Cavern entrance is at the top of Iron Island B3F 1, the last cave room before the exit where you met Riley. The Steel Caves Guard there lets you pass once Riley has given you the pass. You also need 7 Sinnoh badges to use the entrance.
