Vs. Seeker

The Vs. Seeker lets you rematch a set of Ace Trainers in Pokémon Centers across Sinnoh. Every win pays money, Blaze Coins, a random item and Vs. Seeker experience, and your whole party gains battle experience. As your Vs. Seeker levels up, tougher trainers with better drops unlock.

Getting the Vs. Seeker

Dawn gives you the Vs. Seeker on Route 207 during the Sinnoh story, once you have 2 Sinnoh badges.

How it works

1. Open Trainer Challenges. Find Trainer Challenges in the top-right panel. It lists every Ace Trainer, where they stand, and whether each one is ready, already beaten or still locked for your level.
2. Battle the trainers. Walk into the Pokémon Center and battle the trainers you have unlocked. A trainer’s Pokémon match the level of your highest-level Pokémon (never lower than their own starting level).
3. Use the Vs. Seeker. When you have beaten everyone you want, press Use Vs. Seeker to make all of them ready again. It recharges after 2 hours of in-game time, so time spent offline does not count.

Train a team while you rematch

Because levels scale to your strongest Pokémon, a single level 100 Pokémon can sweep a trainer while lower-level teammates collect a lot of experience. See trainer battles.

Revives cannot be used in these battles, and the level 8–10 trainers battle more cleverly.

Levelling up

Your Vs. Seeker starts at level 1 and goes up to level 10. Each level unlocks the trainers of that level, and stronger trainers give more Vs. Seeker experience per win.

Saturn’s champion battle

Vs. Seeker level 7 is the requirement for the champion battle against Team Galactic commander Saturn at Lake Valor. The battle opens once you are Jvaloh Champion; see Bosses and high-level battles.
